Dear Members
The Reps Executive Committee has made two new senior appointments to the team of staff at Reps Theatre, both of which will strengthen the team and each of which will make a significant contribution to the future well-being of The repertory Players and the theatre.
It has been some time since we had a Theatre Manager and it has been Exco’s belief that this position is important in the present and future rolling out of the Strategic Plan. We are pleased, therefore, to announce that John Bonney will take up this position with effect from Friday July 1. John is a longstanding member, with more than 40 years’ experience, and is a former Chairman of The Repertory Players. He retired from the insurance business a couple of years ago and has decided to become part of the team that is taking Reps into what we hope will be an exciting period of consolidation and growth. We welcome him ‘ on board’ and wish him well in this position and in his many tasks.
We shall also have a new Society Secretary with effect from Friday July 1: this will be Philippa Johnston, another familiar face within the Reps membership. She has worked in a number of business areas in Kadoma and Harare over the past few decades and has, since moving to Harare some years ago, been active in Reps (and was highly active in the Campbell Theatre Club in Kadoma previously). She will be taking over from Erin Cooper, who is moving on to pastures greener and more technological! We welcome Philippa, too, and wish her well in this position.
