Hi All

I think it is high time we do something about all the large and now bright billboards that are being placed all over our once lovely city

Used to be we could drive down Harare’s main arterial roads like Borrowdale Road, Golden Stairs and Lomagundi Rd feeling like we were in the country – beautiful trees lining the sides of the roads allowing you to relax on the way home from a hard day’s work.

Nowadays, however, there are hundreds of these billboards on the sides of the roads and even overhead – all with messages and pictures that someone wants you to try and read / remember whilst you are supposed to be concentrating on the road ahead and the text message you are trying to send your distant friend! Just too much

Some have good pictures to start with maybe but after a few months they look tatty

And now there is one with bright lights flashing before your eyes at the corner of Borrowdale and Addington Lane - Where will it end?
I know many of our readers are amongst the advertisers
Maybe a few comments over the next week?

  1. I couldn't agree more. I think it is time to send a message to Much Masunda and Harare City Council on this issue, with some suggestions on alternative revenue sources.
