NEW ZRP TRAFFIC FINES SCHEDULE

A copy of the new ZRP Traffic Fines Schedule which is currently in use has been obtained by AA Zimbabwe and is attached for the information and guidance of members. We suggest that you print out a copy and keep it in your vehicle so that, if you have the misfortune of being fined, you can confirm that the offence is legitimate and that the amount of the fine is correct. Many of the previous fines have been increased (usually doubled) but there is no single fine in excess of $20.

It is apparent that there are some errors on this schedule. For instance reference is made to reflectors being 35mm in diameter (which was the previous minimum size) instead of 60mm diameter, and a minimum overall size of 4000 sq mm (when it should be 3000 sq mm).

We are not aware that this schedule has been gazetted by way of a Statutory Instrument. If not officially promulgated it is not legally in force. Notwithstanding this apparent omission, the schedule is being used by the ZRP.
