Looking at October’s break-in report we are seeing a
gradual increase in the number of incidents, as we draw closer to
Christmas. Having an alarm system has proven to be very effective and
beneficial to clients – In most cases, when the alarm triggered it prevented a
theft!
The response to site is important and you will see
here again that we are catching people. Always a good sign.

BREAK IN REPORT OCTOBER 2013
On 01/09/13 at 2238hrs in Southerton, intruders cut
razor wire and jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, opened the
warehouse door with keys, the alarm triggered and
they ran away empty handed. Property has razor wired durawall,
electric gate and burglar bars.
On 02/10/13 at 0350hrs in Chisipite, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, went to the gate and tried to steal the
gate motor, the alarm triggered and they ran away
empty handed. Property has durawall, electric gate and
burglar bars.
On 04/10/13 at 0211hrs in Town, intruders broke the
front glass door, entered the shop and quickly stole various items. The alarm triggered and they ran away. Property has burglar
bar on the windows.
On 04/10/13 at 2341hrs in Avondale, intruders cut
electric fence and jumped over the durawall and entered the yard. They entered
the house through the kitchen door which was left open by the maid and a stole
laptop computer and went away. The alarm did not trigger because it was
not armed. Property has a durawall, electric gate, burglar bars
and electric fence.
On 07/10/13 at 1900hrs in Borrowdale, intruders armed
with guns jumped over durawall and entered the yard, entered the house through
a window which was left open. They demanded cash and took some household goods
and went away. The alarm did not trigger because it was not armed.

On 09/10/13 at 0104hrs, in Southerton an intruder
started siphoning fuel from a cellphone base station, the alarm triggered, the reaction team arrived in time and
apprehended the intruder. Property has palisade fencing.
On 11/10/13 at 0158hrs in Mandara, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, went to the domestic quarter and broke
the locks for the gates. The domestic worker heard the noise and pressed the
panic button. The alarm triggered and they ran
away empty handed. Property has durawall, electric gate and
burglar bars.
On14/10/13 at 1500hrs in Ridgeview, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, broke a window and cut burglar bars,
the domestic worker heard some noise and pressed the panic button, the alarm triggered and they rran away empty handed.

On 14/10/13 at 1845hrs in Town, intruders broke the
locks securing burglar bars, then broke the glass door and entered the shop.
They stole various goods and went away, the alarm did not trigger because
it was not armed. Property has burglar bars.
On 21/10/13 at 0355hrs in Southerton, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, forced open the main door and entered
the house and stole various items. The alarm
triggered, the reaction team arrived in time and they ran away dropping the
stolen items by the durawall. Property has durawall, electric
gate and burglar bars.
On 21/10/13 at 0230hrs in Willowvale, an intruder
entered the building through an open window. The
alarm triggered, the reaction team arrived in time and apprehended the intruder
who was hiding in the ceiling. Property has burglar bars on some
windows.
On 22/10/13 at 0500hrs in Kuwadzana, intruders started
siphoning fuel from a cellphone base station, the
alarm triggered . The intruders ran
away leaving behind a vehicle, a Toyota Vista, some containers full of diesel
and a hosepipe they used to siphon the fuel. The property has
palisade fencing.
On 23/10/13 at 0712hrs in The Grange, intruders cut
razor wire and jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, they opened the
storeroom window, the alarm triggered and they
ran away empty handed. Property has burglar bars, razor wire,
durawall and electric gate.
On 24/10/13 at 1245hrs in Town, intruders, gained
entry through a top window which was left open and stole various items and went
away, alarm did not trigger because it was not armed. Property
has burglar bars.
On 26/10/13 at 1500hrs in Greendale, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, forced open dining room window, cut
burglar bars and entered the house. They stole various items and went away. There
was no alarm at the premises, client had panic buttons only and did not
hear the intruders come into the house. Property has a durawall, electric gate
and burglar bars.
On 27/10/13 at 0045hrs in Chisipite, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, removed window louvers and entered the
house. The alarm triggered they ran away empty
handed. Property has a durawall, electric gate, and burglar
bars.
On 27/10/13 at 1138hrs in Town, intruders jumped over
the durawall and entered the yard, used a key to open one of the offices and
stole some items and some cash and went away. The alarm did not trigger
because it was not armed. Property has durawall, electric gate and
burglar bars.

MASVINGO
On 12/10/13 at 0230 Hrs in the industrial area.
Intruders gained access into the premises by scaling over the perimeter
protection wall and held a security guard (not Safeguard) who was on duty at
gun point and tied his hands and legs using his shoe laces. The intruders
gained entry into the building through the window and used the route which was
not protected by the alarm system The intruders went away cash and two lap tops.
BULAWAYO
On 11/10/2013 between 0100 to 0200hrs thieves broke
the bottom of the palisade fence of a base Station and removed a fire
extinguisher and two electric fans. The alarm activated prompting the reaction
team. Reaction got on site and found the
intruders still on site who immediately ran away leaving the items they had
intended to steal.
MUTARE
On 06/10/2013 at 0331 Hrs, in the CBD unknown
intruders approached a shop and smashed open the window. The shop alarm
went off and the intruders run way empty handed. Police Attended.
On 12/10/2013 at 0117 Hrs, Mutare CBD unknown intruder
jumped over a durawall of a shop and proceeded to the shop veranda where goods
are stacked .The intruders picked up two boxes of soap & rushed to exit the
yard. An alert guard spotted the intruder and charged towards him. The
intruders dropped the two boxes and escaped. Police Attended.
On 19/10/2013 at 0117 Hrs, Murambi, intruder
approached a residential premise without a fence. The intruders forced open a
wooden storeroom and stole a mercury outboard motor and garden chairs .The
intruders escaped with the goods. The offence only came to light when the night
watchman was checking the yard before retiring to bed. Police Attended.
On 17/10/2013 at 1430 Hrs, Murambi, two armed person
walked past a hedge perimeter and were spotted by residents who
immediately called Safeguard Control. Safeguard contacted police and
ferried police to the scene. The two armed persons were arrested and arraigned
before the courts.
On 26th of October 2013, 0100 Hrs, Nyakamete,
intruders removed panels of durawall and cut electric fence and entered inside
.The intruders were spotted by guard and escaped empty handed.
