John was highly principled and provided support to farmers and their families during this time of great stress. John was a “larger than life” man, a hunter, fisherman, raconteur, environmentalist and wonderful friend with an acerbic wit and a deep love of the bush and Zimbabwe. He grew up on the family farm in Marondera, before moving to Darwendale where he farmed for many years. Our deepest sympathies go to John’s family and children Kate, Tom and Rob.
