It is now
winter and this means longer nights, and more opportunity for criminals. No one
wants to check on noises because it is too cold to leave your warm bed, and yet
it may be intruders coming into your home!
· Ensure
all your alarms are in working order – check them monthly with your reaction
team.

Check the battery
back-up is working.

Check your electric
gate battery and make sure it and the motor are well secured.
·
When you go outside
to switch off generators, check around first with torches, have the dogs with
you and be very aware of all your surroundings.

Install emergency LED
lights so that you have light at all times during power cuts. Inside and
outside if you can

Mostly importantly ARM YOUR ALARM SYSTEM! If you do not have one then

SECURITY GUARD SERVICES – HARARE
On 02nd of May
in Borrowdale thieves broke into a premise and were disturbed by our guard and
nothing was stolen.
On 03rd of May
in along Simon Mazorodze at premises thieves managed to gain access into a
premise and broke an administration window .They were disturbed by our
guard and they ran away, nothing was stolen.
On 26th of May
in Borrowdale some thieves gained access into a premise and were disturbed by
an alarm and when our reaction team arrived they discovered that the intruder
had stolen clothes which were packed in bag which was left on site when they
were disturbed and ran away.
On 30th of May
in Avondale our guard heard gunshots nearby the next premises and raised our
control whereby a backup reaction team was dispatched .An intruder had been
arrested by ZRP .
SAFEGUARD
ALARMS RESPONSE – HARARE
On 02/05/13 at 1240hrs in Mt Pleasant, intruders cut
razor wire and jumped over the durawall, entered the yard, climbed onto the
roof of the house, removed tiles and entered the house by breaking through the
ceiling. They stole various items and went away, the
alarm did not trigger because it was not armed. Property has
durawall, razor wire, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 02/05/13 at 0325hrs in Borrowdale, two armed
intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard. They forced open a
door and entered the house, they took 2 iphones and $1 500.00 from the house
owner and went away. The premise had no alarm.
Property has a durawall and electric gate.
On 05/05/13 at 0513hrs in Greendale, intruders removed
durawall panels and entered the yard, as they were approaching the house the
dogs started barking and they ran away empty handed. The client heard the noise
and triggered the alarm. Property has burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.
On 05/5/13 at 0415hrs in Msasa, intruder jumped over
the durawall and entered the premises; they broke the kitchen window with a
crow bar and entered the house. The alarm triggered and they ran away with some
goods. Property has durawall and burglar bars.
On 05/05/13 at 1930hrs in Borrowdale, intruders
vandalized the gate and entered the yard, cut the screen to the kitchen door
and forced open the kitchen door and entered the house, stole various items and
went away, alarm did not trigger because it was not
armed. Property has electric gate, durawall and burglar bars.
On 07/05/13 at 0344hrs in Belvedere, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, went to the back of the house, broke
one of the windows, when they tried to cut the burglar bars, alarm triggered
and they ran away empty handed. Property has burglar bars, durawall and
electric gate.
On 13/05/13 at 1745hrs in Town, intruders with guns
entered the shop and ordered everyone to lie down, it was later found out that
the suspected armed robbers were CID Detectives who had come face to face with
the wanted criminals so they wanted to arrest them without harming customers in
the shop, they managed to arrest their culprits and took them to the Police
Station. Property has burglar bars.
On14/05/13 at 0701hrs in Hillside, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, stole a gate motor and went away, alarm did not trigger because the outside sensor was faulty.
Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 18/05/13 at 0223hrs in Hatfield, intruders went to
a telecommunications base station, opened fuel outlet valves using a shifting
spanner and connected their pipe to the containers to steal fuel. The alarm
triggered and , the intruders ran away leaving their fuel containers behind.
Property has palisade fencing.
On 24/05/13 at 2223hrs in Mabelreign, intruders cut 5
strands of electric fence and jumped over durawall and entered the yard,
the alarm triggered and they ran away empty handed. Property has
electric fence, durawall and burglar bars.
On 26/05/13 at 0421hrs in Borrowdale, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, got into the house through an open
window and stole various goods. The intruder was seen by the house owner on his
way out of the house. There was no alarm in the
house. Property has burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.
On 27/05/13 at 0502hrs in Avondale, intruders jumped
over the durawall and entered the yard, stole a gate motor (the area is not protected by the alarm), when
they proceeded to the borehole pump they tried to uproot the pump, the alarm
triggered and they ran away with the gate motor. Property has durawall,
electric gate and burglar bars.
On 28/05/13 at 0415hrs in Town, intruders smashed the
display window, they tried to cut the burglar bars, the alarm triggered
and they ran away empty handed. Property has burglar bars.
On 31/05/13 at 0400hrs in Emerald Hill, intruders
jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, they broke the roller shatter
door and the door, gained entry into the house and stole a 43” Flat Screen
television set, two jerseys and went away. The alarm
did not trigger because it was not armed. Property has durawall,
electric gate and burglar bars.
On 31/05/13 at 1016hrs in Ruwa, intruders cut barbed
wire and entered the yard and stole two batteries from T35 trucks and went
away. The alarm did not trigger because it was not
armed. Property has ordinary fence.

BULAWAYO
On Monday 27th day of May 2013 at
23.49.39hrs, in Belmont intruders entered the building through the roof. They
damaged the safe but failed to take out the money; they stole some goods and
went away. The alarm triggered, the reaction team attended, but the break in
and point of entry was not easy to see. The client was advised of the
activations but opted to open the next morning .
GWERU
On the 3rd of May 2013 a break in occurred a
residential premise. It is not clear exactly where intruders gained access in
the yard. Intruders broke into the house through a bed room window and gained
access into the house. They stole cash amounting to $800.00 which was in the
client purse and two cell phones all valued at $455.00. Client was present in
the house, believed to be fast asleep. The alarm went off at the time but the client
advised response not to react as it was a false alarm.The break in was
discovered in the morning by a client who then made a report to ourselves and
the police.
On the 9th of May 2013 a break
in occurred at a retail shop. Intruders broke into the shop through the roof
and stole goods worth $1530.00. Premises were secured by an alarm system with
no radio link. It is suspected that the alarm itself was not armed
according to the alarm technician’s provisional report. A response lnk
has now been installed by the client.
On the 20th of May 2013 a robbery occurred at a
service station and amount exceeding $2000.00 was stolen in the process.
Robbers attacked the private security guard who was manning the station and
managed to tie him up. They went on to blow the cash safe with dynamite and
stole the cash therein. The station was not alarmed. An alarm and response link
have now been installed.
KWEKWE
On the 26th of May 2013, there was an attempted break
in at a furniture shop. Nothing was stolen. Intruders climbed over the roof,
removed an asbestos sheet and entered into the ceiling but did not manage
enter into the shop. Premises are secured by an alarm system. Incident was
discovered by a client when they reported for duty.
MUTARE
On the 4th of May 2013, in the Greenside
area intruders cut security fence and walked to the garage. Whilst trying
to force their way into the garage door, the alarm went off and intruders
ran away empty handed.
On the 11th of May 2013 at 23:20 hours in the
Avenues area, the occupants were not on the property when intruders jumped over
the durawall and proceeded to the lounge window. The intruders then
smashed the window and the alarm went off and the intruders ran away
empty handed.
On the 24th of May 2013 at 23:00 hours in
the industrial area, Nyakamete, intruders jumped over the warehouse fence and
proceeded to West facing window and smashed the window and entered. The
alarm went off and the intruders ran away empty handed.
