Fund Raiser - In aid of the Mashonaland Flying Club.

Painting for silent auction via MFC's e-mail network.

The Mashonaland Flying Club will be holding a silent art auction via the MFC email network. Once a month we will be auctioning a painting from a well known Zimbabwean artist as a way of fundraising for our Club so we can help see our club through these difficult times. The Flying club has been around since the 1950's and has been a starting point for many Zimbabwean pilots now working around the world, providing training, a place to network and learn from other pilot's experiences as well as providing many happy hours of aviating. We are determined to see our club through this and ask for your help with either bidding or passing on our emails in order that we can reach as large a pool as possible. We ask however that if you reply you start a new email as the club uses dial up and it is very slow and cumbersome!

Bids to be registered up to 30th August 2009 via e-mail to the MFC's office, e-mail address mfc@zol.co.zw

Bidders will be given two weeks from the close of the auction to send money, otherwise the painting will go to the next highest bidder.
Packing and Postage cost is for the buyer's account.

For more information about the artist, the painting or the Mashonaland Flying Club please contact us at nikki.hinde@gmail.com or coljen@earth.co.zw

Reserve on this picture is US$1200. A photo of the picture can be emailed to you if you get hold of nikki.hinde@gmail.com

About the artist :

SUE BELL - WILDLIFE ARTIST - ZIMBABWE

Born in Zimbabwe, Sue's artistic talent has been a well kept secret because after winning

the 1984 Matric Art Prize at Port Shepstone High School in South Africa, she gave up her

art to pursue a career in Accounting. Whilst working for a Safari Company in Harare,

specialising in Birding Tours, Sue's artistic talent was rekindled as she illustrated the

Company's Birding Magazine.

Sue's full-time painting career began in 1998 and her paintings are already gracing

homes in Australia, America, Europe and South Africa and bird enthusiasts treasure

the life-like forms and composition of Sue's portraits.
Sue's love of birds and animals

is magnificently expressed through her work and her knowledge has continued to

develop through the many trips she takes throughout Zimbabwe and having worked

at an Endangered Animal Sanctuary in Harare.

The hallmark of her work is the delicate brushstrokes and use of colour which unerringly

reflect her intense attention to detail as Sue specialises in Watercolours, Gouache and

most recently, wildlife in Pastels. She was for many years under the guidance
of the Late Ian Henderson - Leading Zimbabwean
