Deaths and memorials

Death Notice: Burnett – Nicholas. Beloved son of John and Dawn, brother to Natasha, Aiden, Liam and Connor. Devastatingly and tragically taken on 16^th July 2013. Will be missed by all involved in the rugby, swimming, church and school communities. Funeral arrangements to be advised.

Memorial Service : Alf McKissock will be held on Wednesday 24^th July at 2pm at the Masonic Temple on Bishop Gaul Avenue Belvedere.(Opposite Bishopslea school).Followed by his wake in the adjacent hall.

DEATH AND MEMORIAL SERVICE NOTICE  - Johan Christian Adrian Smit

Johan Christian Adrian Smit, Aged 92, Formerly of Gutu, Kwekwe and Lomagundi Lakeside in Kariba, passed away on 15th July 2013 in Port Elizabeth.

"Chris" was born 26 March 1921. He received a BA in English and Psychology from Rhodes University in 1942. He served with the Allied Forces in Egypt and Italy until the end of World War II after which time he took up farming.

Chris will be remembered as a resourceful handyman, building a fully furnished tree house, boats, and 'the Spider'. He was a voracious reader and when his eyes failed him he set upon audio books - ever curious and inquisitive about the world around him.

"Hun" leaves behind his devoted wife Anna Cerina, children Sandra, Jeanette and Eric, and "Oupa" is survived by eleven adoring grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
