There is a marked increase in robberies & thefts related to cash, attempted break-in’s comparing to last year figures this time.  Please find below comparison figures from last year 2012 compared to this year 2013.

Essential Basic Security Tips

• Get a Good Home Security System – this is the best protection possible for keeping burglars out of your home, when a burglar tries to break-in an alarm will sound most times and this will scare them away.

SAFEGUARD SECURITY SERVICES – HARARE

Incident

On 10^th of June in Msasa thieves gained access in a premise and broke an office window and a laptop was stolen.

On 24^th of June in Willowvale intruders gained entry through next door property and managed to cut a razor wire and electric fence that was near the dispatch area and gained entry into the premises. They proceeded to a nearby container and they attempted to bolt cut the padlock of the container and failed to break the padlock since they were disturbed by movements of our guards when they were clocking the GMUs around the premises.

On 10 June in Mount Pleasant there was a break in and the client had to request for an extra guard to provide extra security to the premises.

On 01 June in Borrowdale an intruder jumped into the premises from the next yard and tried to break a window. He was interrupted by the owner who heard the noise and ran away leaving behind a screw driver and nothing was stolen.

On 24 June in Graniteside some key holders with duplicate keys are suspected to have gained entry without authorisation into a factory and caused disorder to goods inside the factory.

SAFEGUARD ALARMS RESPONSE – HARARE

On 01/06/13 at 0540hrs in Town, intruders made a hole on the mesh wire and  main glass door with the intention of fishing out clothes, alarm triggered and they ran away empty handed.  Property has mesh wire and burglar bars.

On 05/061/13 at 0146hrs in Belvedere, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, they broke bedroom window and carport locks, alarm triggered and they ran away empty handed.  Property has a durawall, burglar bars and electric gate.

On 08/06/13 at 0630hrs in Highlands, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, they tempered with the locks to the small cabins where the maids stay but failed to get inside because the doors have hooks inside. The maid heard the noise, called for help and they ran away empty handed. Property has burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.

On 10/06/13 at 0445hrs in Mt Pleasant, intruder jumped over durawall and entered the premises, stole gate motor and went away, the client only discovered that the gate motor had been stolen when he wanted to go drive out, alarm did not trigger because the area where the gate motor is, was not protected. Property has durawall and burglar bars.

On 12/06/13 at 1413hrs in Mandara, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, broke the main bedroom window and cut burglar bars, alarm triggered and they ran away empty handed.  Property has electric gate, durawall and burglar bars.

On 17/06/13 at 1215hrs in Msasa, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard, climbed onto the roof, removed some roofing tiles and entered the Restaurant, the alarm triggered and they ran away empty handed.  Property has burglar bars and a durawall.

On 18/06/13 at 0219hrs in Greendale, intruders ambushed client at his gate, client opened his gate and drove his vehicle inside, the intruders put a stone on the gate rail and stopped it moving, they got inside and ordered the client to lie down, client tried to resist and he was hit with a pistol in the head, they got into the house and demanded cash and car keys, the wife of the client pressed panic button, alarm triggered and  a team was dispatched and on arrival they were confronted at gun point, intruders drove away in the client ‘s car.  Clients vehicle was recovered a few days after the incident occurred.  Property has burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.

On18/06/13 at 1443hrs in Town, intruders jumped over a backyard gate and entered the yard, broke the toilet window and another window near the roof and entered the sewing shop and stole some items and they proceeded to the main shop where there is an alarm, the alarm triggered and they ran away.  Property has some burglar bars.

On 19/06/13 at 0532hrs in Highlands, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, stole the gate motor, alarm triggered and they ran away. Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.

On 19/06/13 at 2230hrs in Msasa, two men went to food court and wanted to buy food using a fake $100, the cashier pressed his panic button, alarm triggered and our team got to the premises and apprehended the culprits and took them to Rhodesville Police Station.  Property has burglar bars

On 20/06/13 at 0423hrs in Highlands, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, cut the cables which supply current to lights, they tried to cut the cage of the gate motor, alarm the gate triggered and they ran away.  Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.

On 20/06/13 at 0505hrs in Milton Park, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, forced open the main door, entered the house and took some valuables, client heard some noise and woke up and on checking he met an intruder. The intruder ran out and went away. The client then pressed the panic button, the alarm triggered. Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.

On 25/06/13 at 0240hrs in Avondale, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard and tied the guard and handcuffed him, then proceeded to the house and forced open a door and went inside. Unfortunately there was no alarm in the house. The daughter sent a message to their neighbor that they were being robbed. The neighbor pressed her panic button, alarm triggered and reaction was dispatched together with armed police officers. On arrival one intruder was on site, shots were fired, the intruder escaped but dropped his firearm as he ran away. Property has durawall and burglar bars.

On 29/06/13 at 0200hrs in Westgate, intruders removed durawall panels and entered the yard, broke the cover that protects the gate motor and stole components and battery, alarm triggered and they ran away.  Property has durawall, electric gate, burglar bars and electric fence.

On 29/06/13 at 1250rs in Greendale, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, tied the maid with her uniform belt, broke the dinning window, cut burglar bar and went inside the house and stole various items.  Alarm did not trigger because it was not armed. Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.

On 30/06/13 at 0401hrs in Emerald Hill, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, broke one window pane which had no burglar bars and went to the kitchen and took a knife which he used as a weapon, he demanded cash and other items, got the things and went away.  Alarm did not trigger because it was not armed.  Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.

On 19th of June 2013 at 0425 Hours intruders cut the fence at one of the retail shop .The intruders were picked by an outside sensor and alarm went off and the intruders fled from the scene empty handed.

Yeoville

On 20th June 2013 at 0210 hours at a retail shop, intruders inserted a sharp object into a wooden battened door which opened and entered. Alarm went off and intruders run away with nothing. The alarm is not radio linked.

Mutare CBD

On 20th of June at 0304 Hours intruder approached office which has window louvers and removed one panel. Intruders then tried to reach a bunch of keys which were hanging in the office. The movement was picked by sensor and the alarm went off. The intruders ran away empty handed.
