NOLA
KATE REELER ( De Villiers)
10 August 1925 - 08 October 2012
My loving mother passed way last night, at the very ripe old age of 87 !
My god this woman had a great life, besides being a devoted wife and mother of 3 very trying and diverse children, she was very active in Rhodesian politics, running the Rhodesia Party in opposition to the Rhodesia Front and her dreaded arch enemy, Ian Smith.
She ran a fund the keep the British Governor in State House for the remaining years of Colonial rule.
She worked at every Charity she ever felt sympathy for and she always did the right thing and vigorously fought against any injustice to anybody, regardless ....
She sponsored umpteen underprivileged students thorough school or university, always gave food or money to beggars on the street.
After Independence she concentrated on the Citizens Advice Bureau, and watched as all her dreams of a free and democratic Zimbabwe go slowly down the drain !!
Then she became addicted to bridge!!
She gave me my appreciation for classical music and art and will always be a big part of who I am and I have become.
She will live on forever as a part of all she touched.
Go in peace mum.
