Looking at the Break In report for January 2013 you
will see that those people that used their alarm systems prevented loss and
damage. There are too many cases still where alarms are not been used.
There has been an increase in crime for the past 3
months in the Mount Pleasant area, recording the highest break-in’s for the
past 3 months. .
USE YOUR ALARM SYSTEM. If you are not sure
how to use it, or need advice on how to set it up, then give us a call and we
will help.
Here are a few reminders:-
:
· If
you use your alarm there is less chance of a serious break in and theft.
(Prevention is better than loss!!!)
· Test
your alarm regularly, and invest in sufficient back up power to ensure that it
is working at all times.
· If
you do not have an alarm then get one (a small alarm will bring you and
immediate benefit).
· An
alarm linked to a response service is more effective .If they know there is a
response they leave faster!!

BREAK IN
REPORT JANUARY 2013
On 01/01/13
sometime in the morning, in Highlands, intruders jumped over the durawall,
entered the yard, they opened one big window, broke burglar bars and entered
the house. They stole a cellphone and some cash and ran away, alarm did not
trigger because it was not armed. Property
has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 03/01/13 at
0305hrs in Northwood, intruders cut 5 strands of electric fence which was not
turned on, jumped over the durawall and entered the yard. They tried to remove
the gate motor, client heard noise and turned on the gate light, intruders ran
away empty handed. Property has electric fence, durawall, burglar bars and
electric gate.
On 05/01/13 at
0530hrs in Newlands, an intruder jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
forced open a wooden window and got inside the house. He stole a laptop which
was being used by the client who had just gone to the other room, by the time
the client came back she saw the intruder jumping out of the window holding the
laptop. She pressed her panic button, the intruder ran away. Property has
burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.
On 05/01/13 at
0815hrs in Highlands, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
broke a window and entered the room which is used as an office. They stole
various items and went away, alarm did not trigger as it
was not armed. Property has a durawall and electric gate.
On 11/01/13 at
0501hrs in Zimre Park, Intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
forced open the main door, alarm triggered and they ran away empty
handed. Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 14/01/13 at
0505hrs in Bluffhill, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
broke the dining glass door and entered the house, stole some items and ran
away, alarm did not trigger because it was not armed.

On 15/01/13 at
0244hrs in Eastlea an intruder jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
forced open the Spare bedroom window, alarm triggered and he ran away
empty handed. Property has burglar bars, durawall and electric gate.
On 18/01/13 at
0030hrs in Hillside, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the
yard, as they were walking towards the house, client heard the noise and
pressed the panic button, alarm triggered and they ran away empty
handed. Property has durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 19/01/13 at
0701hrs in Ruwa, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, cut
burglar bars, pushed them upwards and entered the house. The alarm
triggered and they ran away empty handed. Property has durawall,
electric gate and burglar bars.
On 20/01/13 at
0620hrs in Workington, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
broke a small window pane, and fished out some clothes. The alarm did not
trigger because it was not armed. Property
has burglar bars and durawall.
On 20/01/13 at
0945hrs in Highlands, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard,
broke a kitchen window and cut burglar bars. A guard saw them and pressed his
panic button, the alarm triggered and they ran away. Property has
durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 26/01/13 at
0220hrs in Greendale, intruders cut razor wire and jumped over durawall and
entered the yard, they unlocked the lounge door and entered the house and stole
various items and went away. Alarm did not trigger because it was not armed. Property has durawall, electric
gate, burglar bars and razor wire.
On 28/01/13 at
0530hrs in Mt Pleasant, intruders jumped over the durawall and entered the yard
and stole a gate motor. The client saw them and pressed his panic button, the alarm
triggered and they ran away. Property has a durawall, electric gate and
burglar bars.
On 28/01/13 at
1233hrs in Highlands, intruders removed 5 durawall panels and entered the yard.
They forced open a window, broke burglar bars, entered the house and stole some
goods. The alarm did not trigger because it was no
armed. Property has a durawall, electric gate and burglar bars.
On 29/01/13 at
0255hrs in Greendale, intruders jumped over durawall and entered the yard, as they
were approaching the house the gardener saw them and pressed his panic button, alarm
triggered and they ran away empty handed. Property has durawall,
electric gate and burglar bars.

Security Division- Break-In’s January 2013
On 17th
of January two intruders invaded an industrial site premises in Southerton and
our guard with the help of our back up reaction team in this area interrupted
the thieves and they left the premises thereby successfully foiling the break
in and nothing was stolen.
On 25th
of January a customer vehicle Toyota Corolla which was parked at Groombridge
was broken into by thieves and they were disturbed by our guard and they ran
away and the owner of the vehicle confirmed that nothing was stolen and the
case was reported to police and filed.
BULAWAYO
On 27/1/13 at
12.59.01hrs, Donnington intruders broke into a school tuck shop and stole US$20
and recharge cards worth US$140. The alarm triggered and they ran away.
On
17/7/12 at 0300hrs, in Town intruders cut security fence and entered the yard.
They broke the doors of an empty factory within the premises and failed to gain
entry or simply abandoned the act seeing that the factory was empty. They went
on to a section of the premises which is alarmed, the alarm activated and they
ran away empty handed. The property has security fence and burglar bars.
On 17/7/12 at
0900hrs we received a telephone call from the above a client in Town advising
of a Break in. The clients were honest enough to advise that they had not armed
the alarm. Intruders broke a window which was not burglar barred to gain entry
and ransacked the offices looking for money but did not steal anything.
On 11/7/2012
in the Sullivan Industrial area, intruders broke a window, entered the office
and stole a laptop computer and battery. The alarm triggered and they ran away.
MUTARE
1.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.21/1/2013, Greenside, at one of our key holders, intruders
removed panels of the durawall and proceeded to the main house. Whilst trying
to force their way in through the lounge window the occupants heard noise and
went out to investigate. The intruders ran away empty handed.
2.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.11/01/13, Morningside, One of our key holder‘s house alarm
went off. Reaction team was dispatched by Safeguard Control and arrived within
three minutes and unfortunately the intruders had disappeared empty handed
leaving behind an okapi knife and screw drive. The matter was reported to
Mutare police.
